EVENT REPORT / RICE FEST
116 bowls. Three hours. New connections.
SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 · CENTRAL PACIFIC PLAZA
YUKI & HAYATO / TOTOYA

On September 9, Totoya joined Rice Fest at Central Pacific Plaza in Downtown Honolulu. Yuki and Hayato welcomed guests at the booth, selling 116 negitoro bowls between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
First tastes. Familiar faces.
Some visitors were discovering Totoya for the first time. Others knew the name but had never tried our food. And a few devoted regulars even arrived with their stamp cards in hand! The event brought together guests with all kinds of connections to Totoya.

It starts with “What is negitoro?”
Rice Fest was more than a chance to sell bowls. It was an opportunity to introduce negitoro and share what makes Totoya special, face to face. The Mini size was a popular way to try something new—turning curiosity into a first taste.
From the event to the next visit.
Beyond the 116 bowls sold, these three hours helped new guests discover Totoya and gave us a chance to connect with our regulars outside the restaurant. We hope the connections made here lead to another visit at our stores.
